ITS 2025 Strengthens Focus on Smart Transportation Development

Intelligent Transport System (ITS) Indonesia has confirmed that the Indonesia International Transport Summit (IITS) 2025 is taking place on November 26-27, 2025, at The Tribrata Hotel & Convention Center Jakarta.

"...collaboration in developing a smart transportation system,"

This international event is designed as a strategic platform for governments, industries, and global stakeholders to discuss the future of smart transportation, particularly in the Global South region.

Around 500 participants from various countries are expected to attend, including representatives from 12 ITS Asia-Pacific member countries. With theme "The Global South Mobility Atlas", the summit highlights Indonesia's role in leading discussions on smart mobility for developing nations that have historically lagged behind in adopting transportation technologies.

IITS 2025 features several key formats, including High-Level Panels, Stakeholder Communications, and Exhibitions & Demonstrations, which aim to produce concrete solutions, foster cross-sector collaboration, and create relevant investment opportunities to address modern urban mobility challenges.

William Sabandar, President of ITS Indonesia stated that although Indonesia joined the global ITS ecosystem about a decade ago, it is now beginning to assert its strategic position through various international forums.

In preparation for the event, ITS Indonesia delegations met with Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung, who expressed full support for IITS 2025. The city views the summit aligned with its vision to transform Jakarta into a globla city.

"This support includes providing the venue and committing to collaboration in developing a smart transportation system," he conveyed, Wednesday (11/26).

William also explained that IITS 2025 represents a crucial step toward Indonesia's ambitious goal of hosting the ITS World Congress in 2032. To achieve this, Indonesia must show its readiness in infrastructure, transport technology innovation, and international collaborative ecosystem in the coming years.

"Jakarta's experience will also be shared with other cities to ensure that smart transportation development progressed cohesively," he mentioned.

Moreover, through IITS 2025, Indonesia aims to showcase concrete achievements such as transportation integration, development of a TOD corridor from Lebak Bulus to Kota Tua, innovations in smart transportation management, and accelerated electrification of public transportation.

ITS Indonesia is pushing to meet the target of 10,000 electric buses in Jakarta by 2030 through technology, international investment, and cooperation between central and regional governments.

"This event also serves as a platform for exchanging experiences in developed countries like Singapore and Korea to accelerate the modernization of national mobility," he asserted.
